Orthodox Nativity (Advent)
The Nativity fast is a special time for us to slow down and prepare our hearts to receive Christ. For Orthodox Christians, the Nativity Fast (Advent) begins November 15th and is the 40 days leading up to the Nativity of our Lord. It is a busy time, not only in our Liturgical Year, but also in our culture as well. It takes intention to prepare our hearts for the coming Lord. If you are new to living liturgically, this is an especially sweet time to jump in as there are many wonderful little “t” traditions that keep our focus on what’s more important during this season.
